The research of Hungarian ancient history has stepped in a new phase in the last years. Archaeological researches have been started again in the Russian areas after a 30 year long pause by the archaeology department of Pázmány Péter Catholic University and MTA Humanities Institute; the 3rd Russian-Hungarian Archaeology Expedition in Ural took place between 27th July and 19th August in 2015. The leader of the team was Attila Türk, the team consisted of archaeologists, anthropologists and archeo-zoologists, and they joined the local excavations in Samara, Izhevsk, South-Ural area and Bashkiria. These excavations are particularly important in Hungarian ancient history research.
